Now that #GoodOmens is over, I'm kinda sad and not vibing Aziraphale anymore. Gotta find a different banner...Watching #TheBoys now. Apparently I stopped watching after the ep where Hughie pretended to be a gross spider-man & attend the rich ppl/sex dungeon party (that ep playing those scenes for comedy was off-point, and the season as a whole hadn't been impressing me so I fell away from it).Abt to hit play on the S4 finale 👀

I got an A on this, felt cute, thought I'd share it 😋💅https://librarymonster.raindrop.page/cybersecurity-lib-guide-70521049Feedback always welcome - as are additional resource suggestions! I'll probably use this annotated list professionally come October during #CyberSecurityAwareness Month so there's a lot of time to offer more recommendations that I'd appreciate a ton #Cybersecurity #LibGuide

RE: https://mastodon.scot/@MyricaGale/116618137084499600There are legitimate use cases for #AI as an incredible tool, but not at the scale or speed it's been pushed; certainly not for the environmental damage it will inflict.I wish the establishment of data centers had been clocked as a critical problem (to use AI to solve, why not?) before deploying it to the masses.

My darling babe Tavish crossed the rainbow bridge today. He had heart disease but this was sudden heart failure. He was a rescue, estimated 3-4 years old when we adopted him in 2016. When we adopted him, he was pretty traumatized & scared at first. He’d been rescued from a puppy mill in Oklahoma; kept in a cage outside & obviously mistreated by humans. He was never aggressive with us (or anyone), just easily spooked. I called him my mouse pup. He had the sweetest light brown eyes. The cutest little kitten licks. As he got older, we built some amazing trustful habits: Tavvy would bark for me in the morning and night for cuddles and kisses. He would get so excited for bed, our little twirling dervish, “Tavishnikov” doing pirouettes when it was time for naps & night-nights. Every time I got home for work he’d go up on his hind legs and I’d “catch” him & pick him up, put him in my lap.Hugs, kisses, staring into each other’s eyes for a while. Those endorphin boosts were the best after a long day. He loved my nails scritching his little head.I’m sure there’s more. I’ll probably edit this post further as I think of them.
Edit: he had the best Christmas Day this year; we wrapped a ton of small squeaky toys for him and every time we indicated a gift was for him, and helped him unwrap it, he got so excited. When it was finally free of wrapping, he'd hoard it and chew on it (until the next gift came along)!
It was controlled and peaceful, with Tavvy only a little uncomfortable, not distressed or scared. I’m really grateful to BluePearl Emergency Animal Hospital.
I miss him so much already. Gotta remember he’s in doggy heaven chasing the hot dog (toy) with his...

Content warning:GO S3 spoilersFinished #GoodOmens S3.I'm gutted - it was so fast! I could tell how the emotional beats would've felt better if we'd been given more time and space to breathe atmosphere and supporting characters.I adored the "bookshop at the end of the world" element. I didn't like where it went, tho; the ending was cool for how there's so much love for AUs but I'm a bigger fan of the cosmic angel/demon love thing so I was sad to see it go."Why did you give me Crowley?" 😭

The repeated refrain that #AI is inaccurate & hallucinates & is therefore useless totally ignores how 1) it's getting more and more accurate and 2) even if it weren't, most questions we have while navigating life really aren't seeking the purest most scholarly-researched facts. Maybe I'd be more intense about it if I were an academic librarian, but even the databases UIUC offers are implementing AI...

Dear Reader,
I recently visited New York City and I loooved it (as always). I was there for a medley of Mother's Day and my mums' birthday celebrations with my sisters, C and O, and my mom, E.
We stayed at The Conrad in Battery Park City. The suites were roomy and clean, Leonessa was the rooftop bar and it was super charming but our heater was broken so we had to peace out a little earlier than planned.
We did a lot of walking on this trip, first stopping at Brookfield Place for coffee and brekkies and memory lane (right after my sister had her kiddo, my mom and I tripped over to help and we'd take him in his stroller, spend hours in Brookfield Place talking & looking at stuff). Then we'd walk along the water either down to the Financial district where O lives or, one morning we headed up to the West Village for a stationary crawl.
The Stationary Crawl
Pink Olive West Village: super cute but small corner shop of stationary, stickers, well-curated gifts for people of all ages.
We visited my sister's old apartment building when she lived in the West Village in the 2000s/aughts (and I would come stay the weekends while I was in college :p
Greenwich Letterpress: what an absolute gem! The feminist energy was amazing in here. The cashier glowed when she overheard me tell my sister that I buy tarot decks when I'm experiencing a lot of joy, haha.
Goods for the Study West Village: had a ton of fountain pen options, which was a very impressive collection and yet, since I'm left-handed, one in which I cannot indulge. Although that fact does save me a lot of money. I was impressed with how this [to-die-for...

It's so weird how #dogs have different lick styles. Phe gives quick, affectionate licks & Tank gives these long licks with his whole head like a cow 😂 it's the funniest, kinda grossest thing but wouldn't have it any other way 💛
