Valentine's & Imbolc

Celebrating Spring

An elixir, independant art, and self-love

Imbolc • Love • Witchcraft
Two monsters, one blue with sharp teeth, hooked onto the back of a smiling pink monster. The blue one looks like it's about to take a bite out of the pink one but the pink one's smile seems to be aware & cool with it, like the blue one is just experiencing cute aggression.

February 2 was Imbolc, first day of spring!

I thought I would do have a ritual bath, redesign my altar, meditate over land awakening a bit (although turns out we've had more snow here during February than the past 3 months) but instead it was a day of revving up for other things that were coming along (which are big and complicated and scary). Such is life. I'm excited regardless.

I did remember to repost my public domain 3D design of Brigid's Cross on Pixelfed though, so I got that going for me.

A yellow painted 3D print of Brigids Cross on a gray table.

I've also been following a Cinnamon Love Elixir recipe from The Book of Kitchen Witchery by Cerridwen Greenleaf (visit the Cauldron - the recipe is under Library and/or Apothecary). It takes 3 weeks to make - I got started around January 15, and dude idk. It reduces. It's only about 5 tablespoons! This is a picture of the result in a cute little mason jar next to a 3-inch high rose quartz tower.

I've set it on my altar right now. I'll try it soon I guess, but sheesh. This was a lot of work (and vodka, and White Cane Spirit) for an amount best measured with tablespoons. Maybe it's amazing though, who knows. Maybe I'll just have it as a fae offering, though? They're sweet tooths.

For Valentine's Day, I've been under the weather. I bought myself an electric blanket and a 16x20 in print of the art featured on the right: The Backpack by Alex Pardee. I highly recommend you visit Alex Pardee's website as an artist. He's really fun. This piece in particular though I discovered maybe over a decade ago on DeviantArt, and it was titled "The Hug" back then, and I adored it. I read it like the blue monster has cute aggression and the pink monster is accustomed to it and vibin' the love.
