Product Rec: Bought the Nothing 3 phone and okay I adore it. Paired with my paid Nova Launcher, I'm actually in heaven. I love customization and for the past month, trying to learn Apple's OS has been... π rough. It's so locked down to uniform design & function that my heart hurts. It's a little computer - I know it can do more! That said, I'm keeping my Apple phone & I will learn to love it for what it is, and for why others love it so much.
Fic Rec: I've been on an MCU kick, watching the films in chronological order starting with Captain America: The First Avenger. So gotta shout out to this stucky fic despite the threatening sky and shuddering earth (they remained) by praximeter (Zimario) which is chock full of hurt!Bucky and comforting!Steve because the premise is like... that mask Bucky was wearing was drilled into his facial bone structure. YIKES but OMG so good y'all.
In planning a fun staff appreciation thing at my library, I made some envelope designs - specifically one that uses the most out of a sheet of 12x12 cardstock. It was tricky to make it and then learn how to actually work with the cardstock to make sure it didn't warp on me. I made a little video in my UglyMonster Studio to explain the process, and it didn't go quite to plan, haha. But kept it real, and fixed it enough to look pretty legit, in my opinion.
I used my extensive cardstock collection(s) from Michaels, thrift stores, the Waste Shed Evanston/Chicago. Other supplies needed: Silhouette Studio software & a Silhouette Cameo cutting machine would be for the best. A paper folder (bone's apparently always recommended), and thin double-sided tape. For my lovely colleagues at work, I also cut out a magnet sheet and taped them to the envelope flap closures so they had a light magnetic force to close. Very polished, I loved it.
I've added these envelopes to my portfolio page under 3D Designs.
On Etsy, I titled the product, "Fat Envelopes for thick cards, faux book to stuff secret cash & stationary/stickers into! 2 sizes; largest uses the most of 12x12 cardstock" and here are the details:
For gifting thick Valentine Day (or whatever) cards, sticker & stationary organization & storage, and the large ones look like thin paperback book bindings - great for secret bookshelf cash stuffing or saving π
FILE FORMATS
Inside the zipped file are PDFs, PNGs, Studio3s, and SVGs. Only the Silhouette Software files have been tested & used; the rest are just screenshots of the design I turned into PNG then SVG then PDF using photopea.com. The designs' proportions (both large and small) are meant for 12x12 inch size canvas - try to scale it to that π
